Constructivist leaders understand that leadership is an invitation to see new possibilities, rather than demanding a different picture or controlling situations. All members of organizations are connected, and as such, must be participants with goals that are interconnected and mutually dependent on each other's success if the organization itself is to attain excellence. When groups write reciprocal outcomes which are mutually beneficial to themselves and related groups, the organization benefits. Constructivist leaders understand their role as models, promoting informed decision making and active participation in democratic processes. They work to derive meaning from all situations because they understand that meaning provides context which leads to a sense of purpose for action. Without that sense of purpose, action is meaningless. ( )
